Garden Home Post Office was established in 1882. Garden Home is a community that was established when the Oregon Electric Railway was built in the early 20th century, called the depot on the line for the community [3] Whitford it. A station on the same line, which is located at the crossroads now Scholls Ferry Road and Allen Road, a name created by combining the name of WA White and AC Bedford, New York investor who board the train.
Whitford station cdisappeared when the trains stopped running around 1920, and did not like Home Garden, which became the name of a suburb of Portland, Whitford now especially as the name of a Beaverton high school.
In a plan agreed to by Washington County and Beaverton, Garden Home is scheduled for annexation by Beaverton by 2010. Now, House Park is one of the few places where the city of Portland outside of Multnomah County.
